Emily Hughes, a NICA alumni, was born and raised in South Gippsland Victoria. Her entry into the performing arts was through musical theatre and commercial dance. Circus became her focus when she moved to Melbourne and began training at NICA.
After her degree from NICA, Emily was signed to Micha Bergese Productions and spent the best part of a decade sailing the seven seas as an aerialist in the in-house productions teams for Ocean Village (UK) and P&O cruises (AUS). In between contracts with cruise lines she worked in the USA, was on set for Australian TV series Neighbours, performed in many festivals and taught acrobatic dance workshops.
Emily returned to Melbourne to continue her passion for teaching and now shares her incredible breadth of knowledge and skill with the next generation of circus artists, right here at NICA.
