Artist Bio
With almost two-decades of electrifying audiences across the globe, Anna is one of Australia’s leading hula-hoopers. Combining unique balancing skills with fast-paced technical hooping to create a punchy, sassy and contemporary style, Anna is a powerhouse performer who continues to push the boundaries of hula hoops as an art form.
Anna is recognised internationally as a prolific and industry-leading hula hoop artist, who continues to experiment and set new standards for the nexus of hula hooping between traditional and modern.
She has taught and performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Mexico and the U.K for significant productions and events such as: St Kilda Royale, No Frills Cabaret, Shake It at Adelaide Fringe, Best of Burlesque at Edinburgh Fringe and The Cheeky Cabaret at The Brunswick Picture House.
Additionally, she spent three years as a specialist coach at NICA, focusing on technique and advanced skills with the program’s Bachelor students, playing a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing the next generation of cirque artists.
Expanding her repertoire beyond performing and coaching, Anna joined forces with her brother in 2018 to co-direct and produce PHAT CAB CLUB; a passion project to fuse the siblings’ shared love for cabaret, high-quality specialist circus and pop culture. The show went on to win the Best Circus Award at Perth FRINGEWORLD festival in 2019, was nominated twice at Melbourne Fringe in 2018 and 2019 and sold out shows in Perth and Adelaide Fringe in 2020. Most recently, Anna has been cast as an ensemble member for Highwire Entertainments’ latest production The Defiant, set to tour in 2022.
