Luca is a versatile artist, specialising in aerial straps, freestanding ladder, and Chinese pole.
Originally from Perth, Luca grew up competing nationally and internationally in triathlon and cross country running, but having started transitioning, he was unable to continue competing in competitive sport. This is when he discovered circus at the Women’s Circus, which served as an inclusive space not defined by rigid gender boundaries.
After finishing his studies in urban planning and realising that he was not suited to an office job, Luca decided to pursue a Bachelor of Circus Arts at NICA instead.
With a love for storytelling through circus and physical theatre, much of his artistic work strives towards engaging audiences through human connection and shared experiences.
His background in distance running and triathlon serves as a backdrop for his circus artistry, as these athletic roots have allowed him to develop a strong physicality in his work.
He graduated from NICA in 2024.
